Back From Market!
Mom and I returned early from Spring Market last night, and while I love love love going, we were a little disappointed this year. Yes most of our favorite show rooms had new products for their Spring 2012 line, but a lot of vendors had the same stuff on display they had three Markets ago. Maybe it was because we didn't have as much time as we usually do, but we did see some some great new things while we were down there. Lilly Pulitzer has this dumb new rule of no photography in their show room which was pretty frustrating because they always have new products, but here are some other highlights from our trip that I can share with you...

Friday Favs
You can always count on Anthropologie to have funky accents, and the Twisting Koi Candelabra definitely makes a statement. It looks like something my Mom would have in the center of her table for a spring party, it's totally insane, but secretly I love it...

Mirror Mirror On The... Window?
Bathroom renovations can be challenging, especially when the the obvious wall to place the vanity or shower happen to be on a wall with windows. Whenever I am talking clients into putting a vanity under a window, pictures are always key to help me prove my point. Here are a few of my favorite bathrooms that are perfect examples of how to make it work.

Friday Favs
All of our clients know how much we love Thibaut, their wallpaper, their fabrics, love them. Hence why we used Thibaut Wallpaper in our show house room. So you can imagine how excited I was to learn that they have a new furniture line! Headboards, Dining and Living Room Chairs, Sofas and Benches & Ottomans, they have it all. This is going to be so much easier than using their fabrics to do the whole COM route through other manufacturers.
I can't wait to check out the whole line in person in a few weeks at Market!

More DC Design House Eye Candy
Here’s a sneak peak of other rooms in this year's show house, with Before to After shots (all photography by Robert Radifera). This is just a handful of the great rooms, you will just have to go in person to see the rest! The 2012 DC Design House, is open to the public on Saturday, April 14 and runs through Sunday, May 13th, don't miss out!
As most of you know Kelley Proxmire is one of my all time favorites, so naturally I will start with her room, the grand ballroom.
Here is the old dining room which Dan Proctor of Kirk Designs transformed into an amazing family room.
Please don't write in and comment on how "cute" this bathroom was before, it looks like a Pepto-Bismol bottle exploded... but take a look at how Allie Man of Case Design transformed it for into a nursery bathroom
And onto the Missoni room, a teen lounge by Victoria Sanchez.
Marika Meyer‘s breakfast room, which looks out onto the patio, Before, and After.
Onto the Kitchen by Nadia Subaran of Aidan Design
There are so many other wonderful spaces in the house not pictured here. Some of my favorite rooms I purposely left out, but I might share more pictures on May 14th when the show house is over ;-)

Oh La La!
Have you seen the new bedroom furniture over at Restoration Hardware?!
Even if you didn't use this piece as a head board it would make a great wall feature, or sliding barn door. Too bad my ceilings wont fit something 102" tall, not to mention the fact that I don't have $2,290 burning a hole in my pocket... womp womp.

Our Design House Room Reveal!
The process of turning this...
Has been so fun and amazing! Mom and I are beyond excited for the 2012 DC Design House opening day this coming Saturday April 14th. Today is Press Day so we will be at the house with all the other wonderful designers and volunteers who made this project possible. I literally could do 200 blog posts with pictures of each room highlighting all the talented designers and their fabulous work. It has truly been amazing to see each room be completely transformed. If you live in the DC Metropolitan Area you have to make it a priority to go see this house, at least once. Last week the Georgetown Dish posted a few preview pictures, and since they featured a picture of our room, I thought I would share my Before & After pictures with you today!

If you look closely at the ceiling do you notice anything? This is not an optical illusion, our ceiling is literally that uneven! It took a miracle, slash our talented carpenter Nick, to find a solution for flexible crown molding.
PS: I wasn't kidding when I said our space was the smallest in the house ;-)
